Out now: EWI Review magazine 9
A new year, a new EWI Review, and still the same crisis in our country. Or not? This 9th EWI Review edition tackles the ‘crisis’ theme. The crisis in the banking and financial sector has had international ramifications, but what are the consequences for Flanders? And will we have a cold winter after a flourishing economic summer?
We have gathered together various different examples and approaches relating to a number of the Flemish government’s general initiatives and policy options in this field. You will be able to read how Flanders has signed up for the post-2010 Lisbon strategy and the European recovery plan, and you can learn what a Gazelle Leap is. Furthermore, the spotlight will be focused on the activities of Flanders Enterprise.
In addition, we will be looking at the forthcoming Belgian presidency of the EU and the Flemish perspective on this presidency. We will begin with articles which sketch the general situation, and go through the EWI events in the pipeline. Our classic features present a policy research centre, which on this occasion is the centre for taxation and budget, and highlight a research institution, the Flemish Marine Institute.
