Vanaf 2020 moeten alle wetenschappelijke artikelen vrij toegankelijk zijn

Raad voor Concurrentievermogen

Vanaf 2020 moeten alle wetenschappelijke publicaties over resultaten van publiek gefinancierd onderzoek vrij toegankelijk zijn.  Dat werd beslist op de recentste Raad voor Concurrentievermogen in Brussel.

Ook moeten onderzoeksdata optimaal kunnen worden hergebruikt. Daarvoor moet onderzoeksdata wel toegankelijk zijn, behalve als er gegronde redenen zijn om van dat principe af te wijken. Bijvoorbeeld vanwege intellectueel eigendom, veiligheid of privacy.

Maatschappelijke impact

De lidstaten roepen daarnaast de brede onderzoekswereld, inclusief onderzoeksfinanciers, op om veranderingen door te voeren.

Dat kan bijvoorbeeld door de beoordelingskaders van wetenschappers aan te passen. Het moet niet langer alleen maar gaan om publicaties- en citatiescores, maar de maatschappelijke impact moet een veel grotere rol spelen.

Flanders Looks ahead to the Tenth European Framework Programme for Research and Innovation

Although Horizon Europe (= the ninth European Framework Programme for Research and Innovation) is only halfway through, preparations for its successor have already begun. Therefore, in Flanders, the Working Group 12 of the Flemish Stakeholder Platform for European Programmes (VEP), has drafted a reflection paper on the future FP10. A similar exercise was done in the past for the current Horizon Europe programme.
