België geeft meer aan Onderzoek en Ontwikkeling dan EU-gemiddelde

De uitgaven aan Onderzoek en Ontwikkeling (O&O) liepen in 2015 in België op tot 2,45 procent van het bruto binnenlands product, tegen 1,78 procent in 2005. Daarmee zit ons land boven het EU-gemiddelde van 2,03 procent. Dat blijkt uit het persbericht van het Europese statistiekbureau Eurostat.

De Europese Unie stelde zich tot doel om de O&O-uitgaven tegen 2020 op te krikken tot 3 procent van het bbp.

Slechts drie EU-lidstaten halen de drempel van 3 procent al: Zweden (3,26 procent), Oostenrijk (3,07 procent) en Denemarken (3,03 procent).

België komt op een zesde plaats.

Flanders Looks ahead to the Tenth European Framework Programme for Research and Innovation

Although Horizon Europe (= the ninth European Framework Programme for Research and Innovation) is only halfway through, preparations for its successor have already begun. Therefore, in Flanders, the Working Group 12 of the Flemish Stakeholder Platform for European Programmes (VEP), has drafted a reflection paper on the future FP10. A similar exercise was done in the past for the current Horizon Europe programme.
