The Excellence of Science (EOS): meer dan 30 miljoen euro per jaar voor fundamenteel onderzoek

Het Fonds Wetenschappelijk Onderzoek-Vlaanderen (FWO) en haar Franstalige tegenhanger Fonds de la Recherche Scientifique (F.R.S.-FNRS) slaan de handen in elkaar voor een doorgedreven onderzoekssamenwerking tussen de gewesten/regio’s: het EOS-programma.

De beide onderzoeksfondsen ontvangen van hun respectieve overheden samen jaarlijks meer dan 30 miljoen euro die op basis van excellentie aan onderzoeksprojecten van vier jaar worden toegekend.

Universiteiten uit de Vlaamse en Franstalige gemeenschap kunnen samen met regionale, federale en buitenlandse onderzoeksinstellingen een consortium vormen en een projectaanvraag indienen.

De eerste EOS projecten zullen op 1/1/2018 van start kunnen gaan.

Flanders Looks ahead to the Tenth European Framework Programme for Research and Innovation

Although Horizon Europe (= the ninth European Framework Programme for Research and Innovation) is only halfway through, preparations for its successor have already begun. Therefore, in Flanders, the Working Group 12 of the Flemish Stakeholder Platform for European Programmes (VEP), has drafted a reflection paper on the future FP10. A similar exercise was done in the past for the current Horizon Europe programme.
