Foreign Investment Trophy 2017: Sanofi (FR) wint trofee voor buitenlandse investering van het jaar

De Franse farmareus Sanofi wint de vijfde trofee voor de Foreing Investment of the Year. Dat heeft Flanders Investment & Trade bekendgemaakt in de Gentse Ghelamco Arena. Het Duitse chemiebedrijf BASF sleepte de Lifetime Achievement Trophy in de wacht, omwille van zijn vijf decennia lange aanwezigheid in de Antwerpse haven.

Sanofi kwam als winnaar uit de bus voor zijn recente investering in Geel. Daar pompt de Franse farmareus momenteel maar liefst € 300 miljoen in zijn state-of-the-art biotechfabriek. Die krijgt naast 100 nieuwe medewerkers ook 8000 m2 extra productieruimte voor de vervaardiging van zogeheten ‘monoklonale antilichamen’. Die worden op hun beurt gebruikt als een actief ingrediënt in de nieuwste generatie biologische medicijnen.

Kebony, de allereerste Newcomer of the Year

In Kallo, vlak bij Antwerpen, bouwt de Noorse houtproducent Kebony aan zijn allereerste productiesite buiten Noorwegen. De keuze voor Vlaanderen bezorgde Kebony prompt de eerste trofee voor Newcomer of the Year op de Foreign Investment Trophy 2017.

BASF (Duitsland) sleept Lifetime Achievement Trophy in de wacht

Het Duitse chemiebedrijf BASF kreeg omwille van zijn vijf decennia lange aanwezigheid in de Antwerpse haven de Lifetime Achievement Trophy . Drie investeringsgolven later werken er momenteel 3.100 mensen.

Therefore, in Flanders, the Working Group 12 of the Flemish Stakeholder Platform for European Programmes (VEP), has drafted a reflection paper on the future FP10. A similar exercise was done in the past for the current Horizon Europe programme.
