Innovatie-gedreven

In de nieuwste editie van de Global Competitiveness Report van het Word Economic Forum (WEF) staat België 20ste. De top-5 bestaat uit Zwitserland, VS, Singapore, Nederland en Duitsland.

België maakt deel uit van een groep die het WEF onderbrengt in een lijst van 36 economieën die innovatie-gedreven zijn.

Positief / Negatief

Er zijn in totaal 3 subfamilies van criteria die in totaal 12 thematische pijlers omvatten die elk een score krijgen. Het radardiagram dat een benchmarking doet voor België vind je hieronder.

Positief zijn vooral: gezondheidszorg en lager onderwijs (nr 5), hoger onderwijs- en opleiding (11e), efficiëntie van de goederenmarkten (16e), technologische ontwikkeling (19e), business sophistication (9e) en innovatie (16e).

Grootste problemen bij de hoofdpijlers zijn macro-economische omgeving (59e), arbeidsmarktefficiëntie (44e), marktomvang (34e). In de afzonderlijke criteria scoren we in bepaalde gevallen zeer goed (top-10 en zelfs 1e in de wereld), en in andere zeer slecht (bij de laagst gerangschikte landen).

Ease of doing business

De lijst van ‘grootste probleemfactoren om zaken te doen’ wordt aangevoerd door: belastingvoeten, beperkende arbeidsregelgeving, belastingregelgeving, on-efficiënte overheidsbureaucratie, en onvoldoende innovatiecapaciteit. De volledige lijst hieronder.

Flanders Looks ahead to the Tenth European Framework Programme for Research and Innovation

Although Horizon Europe (= the ninth European Framework Programme for Research and Innovation) is only halfway through, preparations for its successor have already begun. Therefore, in Flanders, the Working Group 12 of the Flemish Stakeholder Platform for European Programmes (VEP), has drafted a reflection paper on the future FP10. A similar exercise was done in the past for the current Horizon Europe programme.
