Eerste steen van dronecampus gelegd

Droneport

In Sint-Truiden is de eerste steen gelegd van Droneport, een campus waar bedrijven in de dronesector zich kunnen settelen. De bedrijven zullen in drie afgebakende vliegzones hun drones kunnen testen op hoogten die normaal niet toegelaten zijn. Begin 2019 moet Droneport de deuren openen.

De bedrijven die zich vestigen op Droneport, krijgen naast kantoorruimte en vliegzones, ook ondersteuning bij onder meer droneregistratie, het certificeren van dronepiloten en verzekeringskwesties. Met die coaching en sectorgebonden kennis willen de partners zoveel mogelijk bedrijven aantrekken.

Drones kunnen op Droneport vliegen in speciaal afgebakend luchtruim. Ze kunnen daar hoger vliegen dan normaal toegelaten.

Naast de loods, die er nu al staat, en de incubator, zal er ook een controletoren gebouwd worden.

Flanders Looks ahead to the Tenth European Framework Programme for Research and Innovation

Although Horizon Europe (= the ninth European Framework Programme for Research and Innovation) is only halfway through, preparations for its successor have already begun. Therefore, in Flanders, the Working Group 12 of the Flemish Stakeholder Platform for European Programmes (VEP), has drafted a reflection paper on the future FP10. A similar exercise was done in the past for the current Horizon Europe programme.
