Vlaanderen richt met zeven bedrijven techonderneming 'FTI' op

De Vlaamse Regering heeft samen met zeven privé-investeerders de besloten vennootschap (BV) ‘Flanders Technology and Innovation’ opgericht. De vennootschap wordt een belangrijke katalysator voor investeringen in technologische en innovatieve oplossingen voor maatschappelijke uitdagingen.

De investerende bedrijven zijn Brussels Airport Company, KBC, COI, Cronos Groep, CEGEKA, Proximus en Telenet.

De historische en nog bestaande vzw ‘Flanders Technology International’, eigenaar van de naam en het merk FTI, is medeoprichter.

De zeven privé-investeerders brengen elk 500.000 euro aan vermogen in, de Vlaamse overheid van haar kant 1 miljoen euro.

De rechtspersoon heeft tot doel een platform te creëren waar data, knowhow en innovatieve ideeën worden samengebracht.

Daardoor kan FTI een katalysator worden voor investeringen in technologische oplossingen voor maatschappelijke problemen. De ambitie is om maatschappelijk relevante uitdagingen aan te pakken.

De focus ligt in eerste instantie op 6 domeinen die in de toekomst voor Vlaanderen het verschil zullen maken:

  • Gezondheid & voeding
  • Energie & klimaat
  • Mobiliteit
  • Data & digitalisering
  • Entertainment & media
  • Onderwijs, levenslang leren & arbeidsmarkt

Flanders Looks ahead to the Tenth European Framework Programme for Research and Innovation

Although Horizon Europe (= the ninth European Framework Programme for Research and Innovation) is only halfway through, preparations for its successor have already begun. Therefore, in Flanders, the Working Group 12 of the Flemish Stakeholder Platform for European Programmes (VEP), has drafted a reflection paper on the future FP10. A similar exercise was done in the past for the current Horizon Europe programme.
