From January 1st to June 30th, 2024, Belgium holds the Presidency of the Council of the European Union. Given our division of powers, Flanders plays a significant role during this presidency. This presents a unique opportunity for Flanders to showcase its rich research and innovation ecosystem within Europe.
The presidency offers Flanders a chance to highlight this wealth under the theme 'Flanders Future-Proof.' At the Department of Economy, Science and Innovation (EWI), we seized this opportunity by inviting some of our colleagues to share insights and perspectives on camera. The goal is to present this information in an accessible manner for a broad audience, aligning with the Flanders Technology & Innovation campaign.
Why does bio-economy have enormous potential in Flanders? How does Flanders guide and support its businesses in preventing cyberattacks? What efforts do knowledge institutions and research centers in Flanders undertake for the sustainability of agriculture? How does Flanders aim to become a leading hydrogen region in Europe? What are the three challenges confronting the industry in Flanders? How do we enhance pandemic preparedness?
Our EWI colleagues are eager to explain these topics to you and Europe in the videos below.
Feel free to share these videos with your audience. They are spoken in Dutch and subtitled in English.
