Catalisti: nieuwe speerpuntcluster voor chemie en kunststoffen

In Edegem is maandagavond Catalisti voorgesteld, een organisatie die voor innovatie in de chemie- en kunststoffensector moet zorgen. Het voegt een aantal organisaties samen. De Vlaamse regering verkoos het tot een van haar vijf 'speerpuntclusters'.

Vlaanderen kende in het verleden de competentiepoolen de Flanders Innovation hub for Sustainable Chemistry (FISCH) - en Flanders' PlasticVision (FPV). Die twee organisaties worden nu samengevoegd tot Catalisti.

Catalisti verenigt onder meer zo'n honderd bedrijven, instellingen als VITO en alle Vlaamse universiteiten en heeft als taak hen allemaal samen te brengen.

Minister Philippe Muyters:

"De ambitie is om de Vlaamse economie te vernieuwen en overheid, bedrijven en kennisinstellingen beter te doen samenwerken om innovatie te versnellen. Onze chemische industrie is zonder overdrijven wereldtop. We kunnen hier specialiseren, onze sterktes uitbouwen en zo onze toekomst verzekeren.

De cluster zal zich onder meer buigen over de uitdagingen van de toekomst - waaronder de klimaatopwarming en (afval)stoffenvalorisatie - en bekijken welke rol de sector daarin met gezamenlijke projecten kan spelen.

Flanders Looks ahead to the Tenth European Framework Programme for Research and Innovation

Although Horizon Europe (= the ninth European Framework Programme for Research and Innovation) is only halfway through, preparations for its successor have already begun. Therefore, in Flanders, the Working Group 12 of the Flemish Stakeholder Platform for European Programmes (VEP), has drafted a reflection paper on the future FP10. A similar exercise was done in the past for the current Horizon Europe programme.
